The building, which rises opposite the Piarist Monastery, was constructed in 1770 for the secondary grammar school affiliated with the gymnasium. Later, it was handed over to older priests – in the 19th century, it already appeared on maps as the "Hospital for Priests." In 1956, it was removed from the ownership of the church, and various educational institutions operated there until 2007. The U-shaped, late Baroque building was dedicated to the honour and eternal protection of Saint Paul the Apostle.
According to research, the house is a notable element among the buildings constructed by Jakab Fellner within the castle precincts. Its delicate, valley-configured Baroque-style facade architecture elevates it to the ranks of the era's high artistic value buildings. Together with the Cour d'honneur forecourt, it forms a special spatial relationship with the analogous composition of the Major Seminary and the Archbishop's Palace.

An ornate and refined historic canonical house with elegant architecture. Its architectural design and interior arrangement reflect sophisticated tastes of the turn of the century. Previously, it served various purposes and met different usage expectations. Following the renovation, it will be restored to its original residential function.
