The one-story, gable-roofed late Baroque building forms a complex with the Piarist church and grammar school, creating a courtyard ensemble. The entire monastery was completed by 1769. During the Napoleonic Wars, it served as a military hospital. From the autumn of 1944, it was also used for military purposes, resulting in significant damage to the building and its furnishings. In 1950, the state confiscated the monastery from the Piarists and operated an office there. In 1956, the property was damaged, and afterward, smaller apartments were created in it, while the former refectory was used by the ecclesiastical archives. After the renovation between 1974 and 1979, the archival institution was able to occupy the entire building.
Renovation works are still ongoing in the building.
