Z\u00e1dori Mih\u00e1ly, the deputy bishop, laid the foundation stone of the current monastery facade in 1722, and the construction was completed around 1730. According to local tradition, in 1795, Jakab Sigray, who was convicted and executed in the Martinovics conspiracy trial, found refuge here for a short time. After the Second World War and the dissolution of the order in the 1950s, the building functioned as a girls' student hostel, then as an administrative centre, and since 1984, it has served as a priestly residence. In the refectory at the southern end of the west wing, there are three paintings forming a harmonious unity, which were brought here from Pest during the reign of Joseph II. On the side walls, there are images of Franciscan saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
