Recipe: a light, soul-soothing autumn walk through Vár Street in Veszprém to the Biró-Giczey House, especially recommended for all ages.
Dear reader! A walk in the Vár (Castle) Street in Veszprém is recommended to treat the stress, anxiety and symptoms of modern life. The colours of autumn leaves have been proven to reduce stress, which the exhibition and gardens of the Biró-Giczey House can bring to all visitors. In addition, the proximity of St. Michael's Cathedral has the side effect of guaranteed inner peace!
Dosage:
- At least 1 hour walk, once a week, in sunny autumn weather
- Recommended stops: the visitable garden and exhibitions of the Biró-Giczey House, the Holy Trinity Statue and St. Michael's Cathedral.
Side effects:
Possible deeper spiritual calm, reduced stress levels and increased interest in cultural and Christian values. The collection of traveller's trinkets is highly recommended! These small pebbles, which carry spiritual messages, have been shown to raise joy levels and photographing them can further reinforce the positive effect.
Special effect:
The archaeological exhibition, which takes you on a tour of the history of the castle quarter, is an added experience. The objects on display include relics of Veszprém's past and are guaranteed to deepen the sense of 'stillness' and 'self-reflection' that is important for long-term mental health.
Special recommendation:
Take part in the WIP'24 guided walking tour on Saturday at either 11:30am, 2pm or 4pm on Sunday to learn more about the history and significance of the area with the help of a tour guide. This "treat" also provides a bit of social interaction, which is also positive for mental health.
