2025 February - The Biró-Giczey House and the Cathedral of St. Michael are open again!

After a long winter, two iconic sites of the Veszprém Castle District are reopening their doors. The St. Michael's Cathedral, with its thousand-year history, continues to offer its stunning beauty and unique atmosphere, while the Biró-Giczey House and its exhibitions will enchant visitors again this year.

The Biró-Giczey House archaeological collection is a real time capsule for visitors. Among the many curiosities is a special coin, the St Stephen's Denarius, which reveals not only the secrets of the past but also important details of religious life at the time. In addition to the artefacts on display in the attic, the statue of the statue of Mary Magdalene Bódi in the garden is the perfect place for tranquillity and contemplation.

At the beginning of the year, the popular WIP tours were also relaunched, introducing visitors to the exciting ongoing work in the castle quarter. Stops may vary depending on the ongoing works in the castle quarter, but the starting point and the place to sign up for the tours is the Biró-Giczey House. There is no charge to participate in the programmes..
