The Cathedral of St. Michael It can be viewed without purchasing a ticket, but visiting hours and guided tours may be affected by Mass schedules and other liturgical events—please take this into consideration. The cathedral's vestibule is open to the public during opening hours and is open to anyone for spiritual reflection and prayer.

In order to ensure the popularity of our buildings and tours, and to provide you with high-quality, visitor-friendly service, please kindly Groups of more than 20 people must be registered in advance..

We also offer guided tours in English and German for pre-registered groups. This service is available for a 50% surcharge, which visitors pay per person.

Guided tours can only be attended with a valid ticket.

Terms and conditions of participation

  • Visits are possible by appointment or depending on advertised availability.
  • Comfortable, sporty clothing and closed shoes are required. Everyone participates in the tour at their own risk.
  • Only persons over the age of 14 may apply for guided tours.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts.

Ticket Types (in brief)

Student, senior citizen ticket: Student tickets are available for ages 6–26 upon presentation of a student ID. Senior tickets are available for those aged 62 and older upon presentation of a valid ID.

Family ticket: Valid for at least 1 adult and at least 1 child (children up to 18 years of age).

Group ticket: Available for groups of 15 or more. For guided tours, the maximum group size is 25 people—advance notice is required for groups of more than 25.

Pilgrim Ticket: For Catholic parish groups and Catholic educational institutions. A letter of recommendation from the parish priest, bearing the parish seal, is required upon submission.

Payment Methods & Ticket Purchases

Tickets purchased at the box office can be paid for with cash, credit cards, and SZÉP cards (MKB, OTP, K&H). Prices are listed in Hungarian forints and include VAT.

The admission ticket includes the right to take photos and videos; however, these recordings may not be sold commercially. Photography without a flash is permitted.

We reserve the right to make changes to the program.
