Exhibitions, family games, and guided castle tours at the Biró–Giczey House

The March 15 holiday weekend and spring break are a great opportunity to explore Veszprém’s Castle District at a leisurely pace. The exhibitions at the Biró–Giczey House, the discovery activities, and the guided castle tours starting from there offer a variety of programs for families, groups of friends, and individual visitors.

Three types of experiences await visitors at the house: interactive exhibits, scavenger hunts, and historical walking tours help visitors learn about the history and buildings of the Castle District.

The exhibition titled “My Head Is not a chapter…”

A Glimpse into the World of Canons

The interactive exhibition presents the history of the Veszprém Chapter and the daily lives of the canons. During a scavenger hunt, participants can collect the letters of a secret password to help a seminarian gain access to the Chapter’s archives. Details placed throughout the rooms guide visitors step by step through the story. Once the clues are collected, the password can be assembled, providing the solution to the task.

Stairway to Heaven – Scavenger Hunt

Traces of angelic depictions and symbols appear at various points throughout the chamber exhibition. These can be used to determine the order of the nine angelic choirs.

This activity requires attention and a little thought: seraphim, cherubim, thrones, and archangels all occupy their own places in the hierarchy of angels. Participants can work their way step by step through this “heavenly hierarchy” while discovering the exhibition’s finer details.

A particularly exciting activity for families: the children look for the symbols, the adults put them in order, and together they reveal the entire angelic hierarchy.
