Castle Project

Since 2021, the historic-scale development of the Veszprém Castle Quarter has been underway. The renewal is timely, as the last comprehensive reconstruction in this area was around 250 years ago, in the Baroque era.

This large-scale project contributes to strengthening both the local community and the regional role and international reputation of the city of Veszprém. The castle’s reconstruction is an investment that serves religious, tourism, and job-creation purposes. During the project, approximately 450 people worked daily on the restoration of 18 historic buildings, 35,000 square meters of built space, and 10,000 square meters of open space.

The project is overseen by Castellum Asset Management Directorate, established as part of the Veszprém Archdiocese for the purpose of heritage conservation, development, and maintenance.
