A modest but exciting treasure trove awaits those who come to the canon's house to discover our traditions.
The Cathedral of Veszprém has undergone many transformations in its more than thousand-year history. We might not even recognise it if we were suddenly plunged back into the past. But now a brief period in the millennial past, the Baroque cathedral, is brought to life so that visitors can experience the stunning beauty of the Baroque era first hand. Among the exhibits are decorative sculptures of the former organ of the Cathedral of Veszprém, four tiny children's angels. Who scribbled them and when? We seek the answers to this and many other mysteries.
This unique exhibition is not only an unforgettable experience for art lovers, but also for those who want to delve deeper into the history of the past.
Each work of art is a reminder of the Baroque period, evoking the splendour and values of the cathedral. The exhibition not only tells the story of the history of the diocese of Veszprém, but also speaks of the responsibility that has defined the cultural identity of Veszprém for generations.
The Biró-Giczey House exhibitions are free of charge.
